Employee Training Center

The Employee Training Center is a learning management system that provides the following features:

  • 100% browser based. You can access the system and your account from the campus portal.
  • Can manage and track all types of training: on-line, classroom, and off-site seminars.
  • Allows managers to access, report and manage employee training records.
  • Allows employees to access their training records through the campus Portal. Employees can review history, requirements and self-enroll into either scheduled or on-line training.

To log on to the Employee Training Center - LearnerWeb:

  • Go to the CSUF Portal at: http://www.fullerton.edu and log on.
    • Roll-out PC users on campus may also access their portal by clicking the START button on the lower left of your screen. There should be a Portal link on the START menu.
    • Roll-out PC users on campus can simply enter "portal" in the address bar of their Internet Explorer browser to be automatically logged in to the portal.
  • Click on the "Training" tab.
    • If you don't see the "Training" tab, go to "Profile" to activate the training tab and refresh screen. If you have any questions regarding the Portal, contact the Help Desk at x7777.
  • Click on the link "My Training Link". The Employee Training Center - LearnerWeb will open in a new window.
  • Choose your class by clicking on the class link that you want to attend.
  • A pop up window will open, click on the 'Register' button.
  • You will receive an email confirmation with the date, time and location.

How to register for a class:

  • To register for a classroom training (non-online courses) course.
    • In the new window, click on the "Schedule" link
    • The Schedule link is located in the left hand menu bar.
    • This will show a calendar of training classes. All courses being offered are on this calendar.
    • Click on the class you would like to register for
    • Click on the Register button to enroll yourself in the course.
  • To register for the Defensive Drivers Training (DDT),
    • Click on the Course Catalog link
      • Course catalog link is located in the left hand menu bar
    • Type the word "Defensive" in the search box
    • Click on the Go button
    • Click on the "Enroll" link that corresponds to the Defensive Driver Web Based course.
    • Click the "Launch" link to begin the course.

FAQ

To sign Defensive Driver Training - Web Based (Online):

  • NOTE: Not compatible with Macs or Netscape.
  • You must disable your pop-up blockers for the course to launch. See disabling instructions below.
  • Follow the instructions above to the access the Employee Training Center-LearnerWeb.
  • Click on the course catalog tab.
  • Type the word "defensive" in the search box located at the top of the screen.
  • Click the enroll link (on the right hand side of the screen) corresponding to the online course.
  • Follow the instructions and complete the program.
  • If you have to leave or stop the program before completion, log off and the program will bookmark your last location.
  • When you return to the Employee Training Center, you can find the course under the "My Enrollments" tab. Click Start (on the right hand side of the screen) to continue the training.
  • In order to successfully pass the course and get credit, you must take the end of course exam and obtain a score of at least 80%. You will be advised whether or not you mastered the program.

How to disable your pop-up blocker?

  • NOTE: You may have more than one pop-up blocker, please be sure that all pop-up blockers are off.
  • Internet Explorer: Go to Tools, Pop-up Blocker, Turn off Pop-up Blocker
  • Netscape: Not Compatible
  • Google Toolbar: Go to Options, Browsing, uncheck "Popup Blocker"
  • Yahoo! Toolbar: Click Popup Blocker icon, uncheck "Enable Pop-Up Blocker"
  • Firefox: Go to Tools, Options, Web Features, uncheck "Block Popup Windows"

What do I do if I am not in the system?

  • New Employees
    • Please allow two weeks for your name to be entered in the system.
    • If you are a new employee who has been on campus longer than two weeks or if you need immediate access to take a class, please fill out the following form: http://ehis.fullerton.edu/Forms/ETC/NewUserRequest.aspx
  • Students / Student Assistants / Grad. Students, etc.

What if I receive an error message when I try to register?

  • Use your browser's back button to return to the page you were working on. Try to perform the same steps again.
  • If you still get an error message, please take a screenshot and email it to employeetrainingcenter@fullerton.edu.

How do I cancel a class in which I have registered?

  • To cancel a class, click on the "My Enrollments" link and click on the "Cancel" link across from the class listing.

What if my Employee Training Center data is incorrect?

  • Incorrect Profile / Personal information
    • For incorrect information such as email address, title, manager, department etc. please email hrms@fullerton.edu

Are there any limitations using the Employee Training Center on a Mac?

  • You will not be able to take online ClarityNet classes. Online ClarityNet classes can only be taken on PCs running MS Windows and MS Internet Explorer.

Instructions for Macintosh users:

  • Use the Safari browser for best compatibility.
  • Online courses cannot be taken on the Macintosh computer. Online courses may be taken on any PC computer or optionally sign up for the classroom based classes.
  • To sign up for classroom defensive driver training:
    • Go to http://www.fullerton.edu to log on to the campus portal. The portal logon is located in the lower left hand corner of the campus homepage.
    • Click the "Training" tab. If you don't see the "Training" tab, go to "Profile" to activate the training tab and refresh screen. If you have any questions regarding the Portal, contact the Help Desk at x7777.
    • Click the link "Employee Training Center". A new browser window will open.
    • In the new window, click the "Class Schedule" tab. This will show a calendar of training classes. All courses being offered for the fall semester are on the calendar.
    • Select the "Listing" radio button on the "View Option" fields located below the navigation tabs.
    • Enroll into the class of your choice by clicking the "Enroll" link on the right hand side of the screen. Follow the online instructions.
    • You will receive an email confirmation with the date, time and location.

What do I do if I can’t enroll in a class?

To enroll in a class, you must be a CSUF Full time Faculty or Staff employee in the system. If you fulfill the previously mentioned qualifications in Questions #1, please call EHIS at (657) 278-7233 or email us at employeetrainingcenter@fullerton.edu for further assistance.
