Note: It is the responsibility of the licensed Public
Display company (NOT the organization sponsoring

for a permit.
- The State Fire Marshal will not issue any permits for
fireworks on any University property unless the authorization
from Environmental Health & Instructional Safety is
received which indicates campus approval of the event.
- EH&IS and the State Fire Marshal will provide a plan
for crowd control during setup and display. EH&IS will
be responsible for crowd control, area security and barricading
of the fallout zone. Costs for this service may be
charged back to the organization planning the event.
- The pyrotechnics company obtaining the permit must provide
proof of insurance, a valid license issued by the State
Fire Marshal's Office, and the name and State Fire Marshal
license number of the licensed pyrotechnic operator who
will be in charge of the event.

by the public display company to the State Fire Marshal's

- The firing zone and the fallout zone for aerial shells
are required to have a 70 ft radius for every inch fired.
(Example: 3 inch shells will require a clear zone
of 210 ft radius.)
- The State Fire Marshal's Office will make a survey of
the display sight to determine if the firing site is safe
for people or property. They have the final authority to
approve or deny the request.
- The State Fire Marshal may require the organization planning
the event to arrange and pay for Fullerton Fire Department
to have an engine company on site during the firing. Contact
