Radiation Safety
Radioactive material (sealed or unsealed sources) and radiation producing devices (such as X-ray units) are important tools in research and educational activities. Cal State Fullerton has a Broad Scope B license granted by the California Department of Health Services. The university is permitted to receive, possess, store, use, transfer, import, and dispose of radioactive material and radiation producing devices.
If you plan to work with radioactive materials here at CSUF you have to attend the Radiation Safety Workshop. The information below will support what you learned in this workshop and provide a means to find further information about Radiation and Radioactive elements. If you should have any question or concerns dealing with radiation safety, please contact the Radiation Safety Officer at ext. 2507.
